Speaking Engagement Spotlight:

Reboot Plus and Fanshawe College

Reboot Plus is a program for youth aged 17 to 24 who are unsure of their future career path and at risk of not completing high school. The Reboot Plus program is a youth education and employment program in partnership with Fanshawe College, Thames Valley District School Board, and the London Chamber of Commerce. The program is funded by the Future Skills Centre of Canada.

The program aims to re-engage youth in both education and career development while exploring career areas of interest.

How the speaking engagement session went:

Eunice Yidana, the Founder and CEO of EUNY BESPOKE MEDIA, had the excellent opportunity to be a guest speaker for the Reboot Plus program in November 2024. Eunice shared information about her career and experience in entrepreneurship, marketing, and communications to help high school students dream big about their future career possibilities.

To begin the session, Eunice introduced herself to the group for two minutes. There were about eight professionals (including our business) at the session. After the introduction, Eunice was placed at a table, and the high school students moved from table to table, learning about her career, asking questions and taking notes.

Several people had signed up to speak to Eunice, so they divided the group into two. The first group met with her to learn about her experience as an entrepreneur, and the second group were interested in learning about marketing and communications. They had great questions prepared for her. The high school students who spoke to her had varying interests in selling cars, being a film director, pursuing accounting, being a content creator on TikTok, and more.

Overall, it was such an insightful speaking engagement. The high school students were very grateful that Eunice had provided a sneak peek into her career to help them outline their career paths.
